Haj Ismail Moazen owned Saad al-Sultaneh Caravanserai, which was given to cultural heritage after the fire. This complex has 4 rooms, including the first eyeglass cafe in Iran. The heritage eyeglasses cafe introduces the special eyeglasses style. The purpose is to combine it with the Iranian cafe, and to further introduce the eyeglasses industry into society.
This cafe won the gold cup in 2019 from the National Committee of Iranian Museums. Ersie Cafe’s other attractions include the old eyeglasses, the 120-year-old carpet in the 46th room, the wall of peace, the Plasco wall in the 48th room, and a 130-year-old piano. In the restaurant of this complex, there is an additional part called Shahneshin. All the paintings and plasters are designed and executed according to the culture and art of that region, which is very eye-catching.
Ersie Cafe’s visual identity was designed according to Ali Moazen’s personal interests (founder of Ersie Cafe). This was also due to the building’s historical location. In the redesign of the visual identity and typeface, concepts such as antiquity and originality were our targets. The cafe founder makes handmade eyeglasses, and this job was inherited from the Moazen family. That’s why we choose eyeglasses as part of our visual identity. Its forms also resemble the architectural form of Saad al-Sultaneh Caravanserai and its arched altar and halls. Due to this issue, the colors used are cream and green.
