Mojamo

Mojamo is a New Zealand business family in tea, saffron, and dates. Owners import products directly from Iran, Turkey, and India. Their production processes conserve ingredients’ main taste. Also, they have devised an innovative way of presenting their products, for example, a disposable spoon-shaped tea bag for tea and herbal tea. Their brand identity is dominated by Iranian art elements and color codes. In 2018, Studio Nim created their visual identity and packaging graphics design. We designed them with Persian miniatures of the Safavid dynasty: this era is known as a glorious period of Iranian-Islamic art. Among artists from that period, Reza Abbasi is our choice due to his emphasis on humans more than space. In addition, his remaining miniatures are linear. We customized the illustration of each herbal tea based on its ingredients. For instance, the herbal tea for athletes was illustrated and inspired by an Iranian ancient sport ‘Chovgan’ (currently Polo).
